Concussion Road- Part Three

tunnel-vision is a thing…

i noticed my signal was
still blinking half a
block after i’d cleared
an intersection where
an accident had been
avoided, the ticking
sound alerted me, but
i had to look down from
the windshield to see
the flashing gold indi-
cater light;
auditory exclusion is
a thing, sometimes some
folks need to be tapped
on the shoulder, we get
so over-focused that
our hearing fails…
clearing the mechanism,
zoning out 50,000 baseball
fans whil attempting to
deliver a 95 mile an hour
fastball to the outside
corner of the plate, while…
some folks need everyone
to be quiet while they’re
putting or serving at tennis,
or merely reading, studying
a menu, etcetra…
canine, feline, or both…
-curiousity ko’d the cat,
because the feline’s
shrinking peripheral
range of vision begins
to deny efficient hearing,
the house cat becomes
so focused that it
cannot detect auditory
intrusions immediately,
like the human who
registers a sound in
our heads as were
busy, then say some-
thing like ‘was that
the doorbell?’, or
‘did you say something?’

+the canine-brained
human may have
pinpoint accuracy
at the junction
where each eye’s
sightline meet…

all canines are hierarchical…
the lowly lion is the only
feline that lives hierarchically,

it may suffer the canine brain…
